Living a Simple Life During a Pandemic

I’ve gone back and forth on writing about this because I have found myself evolving throughout daily life since the COVID-19 pandemic began. There have been days where I am centered, connected, and content while also at times feeling unsure, with no sense of direction.

Finding peace during a pandemic

I have been spending this time trying to be mindful of all of these emotions and embracing them — instead of dismissing them.

Listening to my body when I’m exhausted and need to rest — instead of ignoring it.

Separating myself from the buzz of technology and the noise of the media — instead of letting it control me.

Allowing my faith to provide clarity, peace, and gratitude — instead of trying to make sense of everything.

Foresight has always been a gift and a curse for me. Planning ahead has always been important to me because it reduces my stress significantly. However, through these uncertain times, one day at a time is almost all I can handle.

So, I’m learning to simply let some things go and focus on now.

Carpe diem.

Appreciating the ordinary parts of life and living in the moment have given me peace and contentment.

I find myself on some days wandering around with no sense of direction and an unsettled mind. That becomes quickly magnified if I do not look inward and center myself.

What can I control? What is out of my control?

Our environment and lifestyle plays a huge part in our daily contentment, but also our daily chaos.

As a woman who wears many hats — I’m still learning.
